The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides a tax credit for qualifying¹ energy-efficient home improvements.

For your convenience, we have compiled a list of some of the Manufacturer Certification Statements for qualifying products that can be purchased from your nearest Leader Home Center.

How to claim the tax credit

• Purchase qualifying¹ products from Leader Home Centers.
• Save your receipts showing the cost of the qualifying products (not including installation).
• For doors and windows, save all the NFRC labels and/or print the Manufacturer Certification Statement, if available. For insulation and metal roofing, print and save the Manufacturer Certification Statements.
• Submit the claim on your federal tax return for the year the material was installed.
• Always consult your tax advisor.

Eligibility

• The products must be used to improve an existing home. This tax credit does not apply to new homes.
• The structure must be the taxpayer’s primary residence.
• Improvements must be made between January 1, 2009 - December 31, 2010
